The Emerge Kentucky Fellowship

The Emerge Kentucky Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about empowering women in politics. As a Fellow, you will work closely with the Emerge Kentucky team to support programs that train and equip women to run for public office. This hands-on experience includes involvement in campaign strategy, event planning, communications, and nonprofit operations.

Fellows gain valuable insight into the political landscape while contributing to the advancement of women leaders in Kentucky. The fellowship is designed to provide mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities, all within a dynamic and supportive environment. Whether you’re looking to build a career in politics, advocacy, or nonprofit management, the Emerge Kentucky Fellowship is a stepping stone toward meaningful change.

Qualifications:
– Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
– Experience with AI.
– Strong interest in politics, women’s leadership, and Democratic values.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
– Previous experience in political campaigns, nonprofit organizations, or advocacy work is a plus but not required.

OUR SPRING 2025 FELLOW:

Hello! My name is Ash Wigglesworth, I am a first-year student at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. I am creating my own major called General Political and Social Sciences, it is comprised of classes from 10 different majors including Economics, Business, Political Science, Gender Studies, and more! Also, at Hanover, I’m a Class of 2028 Senator.  Once out of college, I am planning on participating in Emerge KY and I am going to run for City Council in Shelbyville, Kentucky, or going straight for State Representative for Kentucky for District 58. In 2024 I mentored under current Kentucky State Senator Keturah Herron. I am also a candidate for an Indiana State Government Internship in the summer of 2025.

Hannah Botts (she/they) is a nonprofit consultant with a passion for technology, youth voice, and the empowerment of marginalized voices in politics. A native of Lexington, Kentucky, Hannah has worked across various sectors, including serving as a Youth Research & Evaluation Advisor at the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and Director of Partnerships at the Student Basic Needs Coalition.
