Emerge Kentucky Announces New Hire of Assistant to the Executive Director

Louisville, Ky.Emerge Kentucky, the Commonwealth’s premier organization for recruiting and training Democratic women to run for political office, has announced the hiring of Megan Webb as the Assistant to the Executive Director. Megan will focus on improving internal operations, re-energizing fundraising strategies, and advancing the longevity of Emerge KY’s platform.

Megan attended the University of Louisville, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Social Work in May of 2016. She went on to complete her Masters in Social Work in May of 2017, and was the recipient of the Ruth R. Middleman Award. Megan developed a keen interest in the need for systems change and began to focus on Macro-level Social Work. Megan previously worked with The Greater Louisville Project for three years and currently serves as the Dean of the Louisville Chapter of the Awesome Foundation.

Megan explains that her focus in Macro-level Social Work fits perfectly with her new role, “I have always felt that the true catalyst for systems and social change is influencing policy-makers. Through my role with Emerge KY, I will have the opportunity to build strong networks and advocate for change directly from the top. Giving Democratic women a meaningful platform to get elected and subsequently create powerful change in our communities is a dream, and Emerge KY is the perfect opportunity to make that dream attainable. I feel blessed to be offered a position that coincides so harmoniously to my own personal interests and passions.”

Emerge Kentucky is the premier candidate training program for Democratic women. We inspire women to run and we hone their skills to win. Our goal is clear: to increase the number of Democratic women in public office.
