I was a first-generation college student at Centre College, attending on scholarship and Pell Grants, where I earned my psychology degree. I later completed a master’s in counseling psychology at the University of Kentucky, worked in social work, and moved into energy consulting in 2008. I am a proud wife to a wonderfully supportive husband and veteran, and I am the lucky mom to Tessa, Eliza, and Merrick, and bonus mom to Nox.
I’m a soccer and cheer mom, a PTO board member, and part of a grassroots leadership team working to defend democracy. Motherhood taught me how to manage chaos with calm, plan ahead when everything changes at once, and get things done under pressure. Those skills translate directly to leadership, because governing is about balancing urgent needs, limited resources, and real people’s lives. That work has only deepened my commitment to state policy that helps families thrive. I understand the squeeze families are under because I live it as a working mom. I juggle childcare and school schedules, stretch paychecks, watch utility and grocery costs climb, and navigate healthcare and workplace rules that too often favor the powerful. What happens in Frankfort shows up at the kitchen table, and families feel it every day. I’m running because I want to build a Kentucky that puts people first, not corporations.
I believe in access to healthcare, a government that puts working people first by supporting their families and worker rights, and public education that builds inclusive, critical thinkers. I will push for practical reforms that fully fund and protect public schools, improve paychecks, protect worker rights, expand access to healthcare, and strengthen communities. I bring genuine compassion and the ability to understand people at a deeper level. My career in procurement has sharpened my negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and relationship-building, strengths that will help me work across differences and get things done.
I believe Kentucky’s best days are still ahead of us. By investing in our kids, standing with workers and families, and choosing people over politics, we can build a future rooted in dignity, opportunity, and shared prosperity.
