Read moreRaised in Elizabethtown, Susan Turner developed an early interest in language and storytelling. She pursued this passion at Western Kentucky University, majoring in Journalism. She took these skills and knowledge into the field in 2007, dedicating a decade to community newspapers in Central Kentucky as a copy editor, presentation editor, and columnist, and standing in as a reporter/photographer as needed. This work helped Susan to get to know the Kentuckians who call Hardin, Nelson, Grayson, and LaRue counties home. She learned about their challenges and their achievements and helped tell their stories. While she no longer works in journalism, Susan still invests her time to impact communities and change lives. She currently works in business development for a Louisville-based company that provides workforce services and housing solutions to vulnerable populations. Her volunteer efforts include those with Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, Elizabethtown Youth Soccer Association, and Hardin County Schools. Causes dear to her include preparing our children for the future, protecting women’s rights, equality, and the environment. Susan’s priority is spending time with her husband, Jon, and their sons, Leo and Logan. In her free time, Susan enjoys reading, live music, and maintaining the charm and chaos of their household.
