Sheri is President-Emeritus of the InfraGard National Members Alliance. As a member of the National Board for 12 years and National President for 3 years, she led the private sector entity of this public-private partnership working with the FBI, DHS and other organizations to create partnerships and opportunities for InfraGard and its 50,000 members in critical infrastructure and cyber security concerns. She created the InfraGard Sector Chief Program which the FBI later mandated all FBI field offices implement to better connect the public and private sectors for critical infrastructure protection. One of her first accomplishments on the National Board was to work with each of the 84 chapters (and all secretary of state offices) in the country to become incorporated 501(c)3 entities to expand networking opportunities for the membership.
As President & Executive Director for the Cyber Conflict Studies Association, Sheri worked with government, private corporations and academia to study cyber threats and solutions for the next generation. Later, she worked in automating the Incident Command process for healthcare facilities around the country as the Director of Customer Support for start-up technology company, DisastersNet, where she developed the training and implementation program.
Most recently, Sheri was the Cyber Security Strategic Partnerships Director for Humana’s Enterprise Information Protection Department where she engaged with external partners and internal customers to improve Humana’s cyber security posture.
As a subject matter expert in public-private partnerships, Sheri has written articles for the Domestic Preparedness Journal and has been interviewed for Emergency Management Magazine. She has received awards and recognition from the Navy, FBI and Army and was the 2015 recipient of the first annual InfraGard National Members Alliance “Lifetime Leadership Award”. She currently serves on the KY InfraGard Members Alliance Board of Directors as the Sector Chief Coordinator. Among the many organizations in which she has been involved are the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, Intelligence and National Security Alliance, iKeepSafe Coalition, Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk, Michel Vital Foundation, and the American Heart Association.
Sheri received her BS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in 1990 and currently serves on the Purdue Engineering Alumni Association Board of Directors. She has been an invited speaker for industry and technology groups on many topics including public-private partnerships, cyber security and for undergraduate and graduate students on creative career planning.
In 2018, Sheri pursued her life-long dream of running for KY State Senate District 36. After winning the primary by 12 points, she challenged the incumbent senator and made the largest swing of any district in the state closing the 33-point gap by 27 points while being outspent more than 20 to 1.
Sheri is the proud mother of Ryan, a 2018 graduate of UK. She enjoys boating in the summer on the many beautiful lakes in KY with her long-time boyfriend Vic, a retired sergeant with the Louisville Fire Department.
