Read moreLiz Sheehan is a resident of Lexington and a faculty member at University of Kentucky. She got her PhD in Psychology from Emory University and her Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech. Mentoring undergraduates in career planning and new instructors in the classroom are the aspects of her work at UK she values most. Her free time is spent with family, volunteering, or practicing yoga as a certified yoga instructor. Community service is important to her; some places she volunteers are the LFUCG Environmental Commission, the Hope Center, the Girl Scouts, and Kentucky Yoga Initiative. She works professionally and personally to promote critical thinking, self-care, and well-being. Lexington won her heart through its welcoming community, civic engagement, and culture.
