Read moreKatie Carter moved to Louisville over a decade ago to pursue a career in state public policy at Kentucky Youth Advocates after receiving her Master’s in Public Affairs at Indiana University in Bloomington. Prior to that, Katie studied English and Politics at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, where she was the convener of the College Democrats. At Kentucky Youth Advocates, Katie spent five years working on family economic security issues. She later provided resources and training to youth and family service agencies across the country as staff at National Safe Place Network. She now engages corporations on issues ranging from climate change to human rights with the Office of Faith-Based Investing and Corporate Engagement of the Presbyterian Church USA. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Americana World Community Center, a nonprofit bridging the gap from surviving to thriving for Louisville’s refugee, immigrant and underserved populations through education, family support, youth achievement, and career and financial development. Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters.
