A recent graduate of Centre College in Danville, KY, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics with a minor in International Studies. Since high school, Imani has been involved in policy advocacy – from her involvement on the OSHN Youth Implementation Team to being an appointed member of the LMPD Civilian Review Board Task Force. Her time as a community organizer and lobbyist with Kentuckians for the Commonwealth included organizing around issues such as educational equity, electoral engagement, and racial reckoning. In 2022, Imani was selected as a John R. Lewis Scholar with the Faith and Politics Institute (Washington D.C.), where she studied Kingian Nonviolence and traveled with U.S. Congressional members in the 2023 Selma Pilgrimage. Since the 2020 uprisings, Imani has continued as a community advocate, organizing with young BIPOC leaders to establish the “Keep Going” Scholarship in honor of fallen fellow activist Travis Nagdy, with the Community Foundation of Louisville and Russell Place of Promise; as well as having served as the president of the Centre Black Student Organization and as the first Black woman president of the Student Government Association of Centre College.
