Cindi Fowler is a life-long resident of Valley Station and graduate of Valley High School. She was elected to serve as District 14 Councilwoman in 2012 and was reelected to a second four year term in November of 2016. Cindi worked for the Jefferson County Public School System for 10 years and spent 2 years as the Legislative Assistant to retired Councilman Bob Henderson, prior to being elected as Councilwoman.
District 14 covers the Valley Station, Pleasure Ridge Park and Kosmosdale areas, including Sun Valley Park and Jefferson Memorial Forest recreational areas and trailheads.
In 2018, Councilwoman Fowler serves as Chair of the Metro Council’s Parks, and Sustainability Committee. She is also a member of the Budget Committee and the Government Oversight, Audit and Ethics Committee.
Councilwoman Fowler also serves as Chair of the Large City Council for the National League of Cities (NLC) where she helps shape federal municipal policies to better reflect the needs of large cities throughout the country. She has also been appointed to serve on the Federal Relations Committee within the Kentucky League of Cities (KLC). As a member of this committee, she will be working to maintain effective relationships with congressional delegation members and actively lobby members of the delegations within their districts. This is important work that the Councilwoman is honored to be a part of.
Cindi has been happily married to her husband, Mike Fowler, for 42 years. She is the mother of 3 children, and a proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren.
Cindi has a passion for volunteering in her community. She volunteers for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA), where she has served as Site Coordinator for the Sun Valley location for many years. She is a member of the Southwest Community Ministries board, who serves individuals and families in crisis while providing crucial, personal guidance and education. Cindi also serves as a board member of Mattingly Edge, an organization that works to meet the needs of developmentally disabled individuals. She serves on the Southwest Festival Committee. She is a member of Incarnation Catholic Church where she served on the Art and Environment committee for many years, as well as serving on the parish council. She served as the general contractor when the sanctuary of the church was renovated in 2005.
She is an active member of the Dixie Area Business Association (DABA), Riverport Business Association, the Valley Woman’s Club, and is a graduate of both the Neighborhood Institute and Emerge Kentucky programs.
Councilwoman Cindi Fowler is dedicated to serving the needs of her constituents; making sure that they have an accessible representative that truly cares about the issues facing District 14 and its residents. She remains committed to building the network needed to make District 14 the best place to live, work, and play.
