Carr-Seals’ public service work includes the alleviation of homelessness and mentor of homeless people; the abolishment of the death penalty; Executive Board Member of the Fayette County Democratic Party; academic tutor of children and youth, spiritual guide of women prisoners, implementer of public issues’ forums and workshops (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.) Former Services to Youth Chairperson (Frankfort-Lexington Links, Inc.) and life member of the NAACP. Chyrsanthia has enjoyed appointments by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Governors including the Juvenile Justice Comission, the Advisory Council for Libraries, and textbook evaluator for Kentucky schools. Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Chrysanthia is married to Retired Professor Alvin M. Seals. Together they have two adult sons, (Keric Cleophus-Alvin and Christopher David-Alvin) – who are both currently pursuing their doctoral degrees.
