She is Vice-Chair for our State Advisory Council for Gifted & Talented Education as appointed by the Governor. She serves on the Executive Committee for KFTC, advocates with the Poor People’s Campaign, Bread for the World, and more. Bren has advocated on Capitol Hill and Frankfort for issues for quality education, justice, voting rights, etc Brenda spent decades being engaged with schools, collaborating with leaders to provide various services with creativity and sincerity. She served on the National PTA (NPTA) Communication Committee and has presented national workshops on Social Media, Increasing Graduation Rates & Parenting Advocacy. Bren was a panelist on NBC’s EDUCATION NATION, “Stepping Up: The Power of a Parent Advocate” for Parenting Magazine’s Mom Congress also aired on C-SPAN. She was selected by the White House and U.S. Department of Education as a White House Champion of Change. Bren is a Prichard Committee member & Commonwealth Institute for Parent Leadership Fellow; Storyteller; a UNA-USA Global Goals Ambassador for Zero Hunger; Former IBM Computer Programmer & Product Planner, Youth Ministry Director and more. Bren & her husband raised 4 children.
