Ashley also serves as a partner in Commonwealth Consulting Group where she serves as an advisor for state and local campaigns. Currently, Ms. Adkins serves on the Kentucky Board of Nursing and Commission on Women. Ms. Adkins is chair of the Rowan County Democrat Party and also a member of the State Central Executive Committee. Prior to her current position, she served as General Counsel for Amy McGrath for Senate from 2020 to 2021. Prior to her time with Mrs. McGrath, she was assistant County Attorney in Rowan County for three years where she prosecuted child abuse, neglect and dependency cases. In 2019, she was recognized for her efforts when she was awarded the “Superhero of Our Children” Award. While Assistant County Attorney, Ashley worked to combat the opioid epidemic by obtaining grant money to start the Casey’s Law initiative in Rowan County, in addition to hosting community educational programming and forums to seek solutions to the epidemic. Ashley is active in her community, serving as a member of the Morehead Community Fund, D.O.V.E.S. of Gateway Board, and Morehead Young Professionals. In 2018, she was awarded, “Outstanding Young Professional of the Year” by the Morehead Chamber of Commerce and continues to be invested in her community and region.
