She earned her doctorate from the University of Kentucky, and went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Louisville. She has practiced in a variety of clinical settings. As a faculty member at a college of pharmacy, she presented her research at state, national, and international conferences, and also directed a department with a $150,000 annual budget. In 2019, she started her own private practice, and now works with patients to manage chronic illness and complex medication issues. She also continues to teach pharmacology to graduate students and volunteer in substance abuse facilities. Amber focuses her advocacy on substance abuse disorder treatment and health policy reform. She lives in Buckner with her husband Adam LaDow, and is a proud bonus mom to Coleman, Katie, and Bennett.
