Read moreAllyson Taylor is a native of Frankfort and was appointed to the position of Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control by Governor Beshear in December of 2019. She attended Morehead State University where she obtained Bachelor Degrees in English and Government. Allyson earned her Juris Doctorate at the Brandeis College of Law at the University of Louisville and was admitted to the practice of law in October of 2002. Allyson started her career as a prosecutor in the Domestic Violence, Sex Crimes and Child Abuse and Neglect Unit of the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office. She then served as the Director of the Prosecutors Advisory Council and the Office of Victims Advocacy under Attorney General Jack Conway (2011-2013.) She next served as Chief of Staff of the Kentucky Department for Public Health. In 2016 she was appointed by then Attorney General Beshear to be the Director of his newly created Office of Child Abuse and Human Trafficking Prevention and Prosecution, a position she held until becoming Commissioner of ABC. Allyson lives in Frankfort with her daughters Brooklyn and Regan.
