Her education includes a BS in Elementary Education, MA in Teacher Leadership, and MA in School Counseling. She taught with empathy and compassion in Title 1 public schools for eleven years before transitioning to managing logistics where she focuses on efficiency and securing fair wages and work-life balance for employees. Brook became a single mother at the age of eighteen and rose out of poverty through the help of government safety net programs. This experience has made her a strong advocate for social initiatives. Her political experience includes being the Secretary of the Louisville Democratic Party, the Vice-Chair of District 36, the Louisville Democratic Party’s Events Chair, a Frankfort delegate during the teacher protests (2019), and a protest organizer for teacher pensions and Medicaid cuts.
