Read moreMaria has lived in District 48 in Louisville since 2004, when she relocated with her family from Florida, where she grew up. Maria’s three children were raised in Louisville and attended Jefferson County public schools. She practiced law for over 20 years and has taught school. She is also pursuing her Master’s Degree in Public Administration at the University of Louisville.
As a volunteer, Maria has been a leader in Girl Scouts, an officer of the Parent Teacher Associations, and a member of the Site Based Decision Making Council. She has volunteered for Legal Aid and the Bar Associations of which she is a member.
Maria also serves as a Board member for Kentucky PTA and The Louisville Metro Democratic Club and is active with Restorative Justice Louisville. In Florida, she was a member of the Board of Trustees for St. Mary’s Parish Day School.
Maria is a proud graduate of Emerge Kentucky leadership training program.
