McKayla Weaver-Beebout has been dedicated to creating a stronger Commonwealth through her involvement in dozens of Democratic races at the city, Congressional, and state levels. She currently serves in the office of Governor Andy Beshear and formerly served as a Deputy Finance Director for the Governor’s 2023 race during which she assisted in raising a historic $27.5 million. McKayla was recently elected as the KY-06 youth representative on the Kentucky Democratic Party State Central Executive Committee and serves as the Fayette County Democratic Party Treasurer and 75th Legislative District Vice-Chair. Due to her commitment to creating a more equitable future for all Kentuckians, McKayla was appointed a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Andy Beshear and was the 2019 recipient of the Fayette County Democratic Party’s “Next Generation” Award. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s in Political Science where she devoted her studies to research on female candidate emergence and continues to focus on political strategy and organization. She and her husband, Christopher, are proud Lexingtonians where they share their home with their two cats, Sebastian and Lizzie.
