A proud graduate of the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law, she currently works as an attorney with the Legal Aid Society, a non-profit providing civil legal services to those living in poverty in Jefferson County and 14 surrounding counties. Her practice is primarily focused on providing representation in divorce, custody, and protective order actions for survivors of domestic violence. Emily’s experience working with survivors living in poverty drives her passion to make the court system more accessible to all people-regardless of financial status, life experience, or education level. Along with her work as an attorney for Legal Aid, she is also a proud member and executive secretary of her office’s union, Legal Aid Workers Union, NOLSW/UAW Local 2320. She recently served as a member of her union’s bargaining team, successfully negotiating long overdue raises for attorneys and support staff. Beginning in 2023, Emily will begin serving as a board member for the Jefferson County Women Lawyer’s Association. In her free time, Emily enjoys cooking, running, and spending time with her fiancé, Tyler.
