Read moreLoandria “Andi” Dahmer is the international Exchange Program Manager at the World Affairs Council of Kentucky. She previously interned in the D.C. office of Congressman Yarmuth and with Emerge Kentucky. She is a 2018 Truman Scholar and 2019 Rhodes Scholarship Finalist. Her research focuses on East Asia, covering LGBT rights, gender representation, diplomatic relations, and COVID-19 policies. Andi has co-authored six peer-reviewed publications, thirty-three news and policy publications, and two book chapters, including one chapter for the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Politics. Andi graduated summa cum laude from Western Kentucky University, quadruple majoring in Economics, International Affairs, Spanish, and Asian Religions and Cultures. While at WKU, Andi served as student body president and student regent. She studied abroad in nine countries across six continents, honing her language skills in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. Andi is a 2019 Truman-Democracy Fellow, 2020 Truman-Albright Fellow, 2021 New Leaders Council Fellow, and 2022 Arena Academy graduate. She serves on the board of the New Leaders Council of Kentucky and Louisville Girls Leadership, and served as Acting President of the Democratic Woman’s Club of Jefferson County. She aspires to a career in Kentucky politics, working to mitigate inequality and promote economic opportunity in the Commonwealth. Andi will begin law school in the fall of 2022.
