She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2001, and her Juris Doctorate in 2005, from Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Pashens became a licensed attorney in 2010. Prior to starting out as a solo practitioner, she served as an in-house pro bono attorney for the Legal Aid Society from November 2010 to August 2013. There she served as a lead volunteer Attorney in the Expungement Unit, facilitated pro bono Divorce Clinics, Will Clinics, and traveled around the city discussing end of life planning.
Since 2013 Pashens has operated her own successful Law Practice focusing on Family Law, Estate Planning and Probate. Having a deep passion for the advocacy of children, she currently works as a Guardian Ad Litem for Jefferson County Family Court. Additionally, she continues her work helping low-income clients as a contract attorney for Legal Aid.
Pashens serves on several boards, including the Chestnut Street YMCA, Cultivating the Youth Experience, Inc., and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Louisville Black Lawyers Association, Louisville Bar Association, Pro Bono Consortium, and is a Black Achievers Program Cluster Leader.
