Christa’s early career began at her mother’s local newspaper, the Carlisle County Courier, where she won statewide awards for advertising design and writing. She spent several years working at area newspapers including The Paducah Sun, Metropolis Planet and the Murray Ledger and Times before moving toward the private sector. She transitioned to Human Resources while working at VMV Paducahbilt then on to Computer Services, Inc. currently serving as Director of Training Logistics & Administration. Prior to devoting work full-time to educating customers, Christa served as Human Resources Manager for CSI’s Amarillo, TX center and earned her Professional in Human Resources certification.
Christa served as Secretary, Vice-President and President of Four Rivers Society for Human Resources. She has been a member of the Kentucky SHRM State Council, a member of Kentucky iWin and mentor for the WKCTC Gear UP Program. Christa is a board member for the Paducah Art House Alliance and Chairman of the Maiden Alley Cinema Advisory Board. She volunteers for Paducah United Way and in 2018 helped found the western Kentucky chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America where she serves as chapter lead.
