Emerge Kentucky alumnae won 27 of their races across the Commonwealth.

This Midterm Election, the number of Emerge women in the state house increased from 2 to 7

Two alumnae flipped seats from Republican to Democrat

10 of the 27 won county-wide elections

6 of the 27 are women of color

7 won city council seats

 

Emerge Kentucky Firsts:

Alumna Nima Kulkarni will be the first Indian-American to serve in the Kentucky state legislature

Beverly Chester-Burton will be the first African-American mayor of Shively

Kathryn Thomas was Emerge Ky’s first county attorney win, and the first woman to serve in that office in Barren County
